Corpus Anima Show, 2026
This series is a deep dive into new painting techniques and style exploration. Many of the works are studies, I was so inspired by these works I had to dive in and try to learn as much as I could from these pieces. I have always been inspired by the power and depth of the female form. From everyday life scenes to ethereal goddesses, these women reflect the multitudes I contain within myself and that exist in all women. It is not by chance that most of these women I have painted here are at rest. It is a theme I have been exploring in my own life, what it means to embrace rest as a woman in a world that is constantly pushing and asking for more.
Venus Verticordia
Study of Venus Verticordia (1864–1868) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti
Acrylic on canvas
30x40"
I was inspired to study the Venus Verticordia (1864–1868) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti not only for it's glowing portraiture of a divine goddess surrounded by erotic symbolism, but because I knew it would provide a technical challenge for me. Taking a more sculptural approach to painting the face and figure, along with exploring a new color palette that is so different from my usual bright, neon colors. I loved diving into this study and expanding my skills in this new way.

“Women are always asked to do more, be productive, and perform. These women are at rest, and they are over pretending to be everything for everyone. Their beauty is inherent, not performative.”

Garden Goddess
acrylic on canvas
11x14"
This piece is inspired by the works of Susan Gredell, my friend and fellow artist in residence here at Mind's Eye. Her fantastical worlds she creates with rich colors and intricate details inspired me to create this scene of a garden goddess. As she walks, the nature grows around her and tagging along is her friend the helpful mouse, a nod to Susan's whimsical creatures often found in her work.
